Questions to Ask Before Choosing a PPF Installer
How to choose a paint protection film installer: questions to ask about the film, paint preparation, edges, warranty registration and aftercare.
The film matters, and so does the installation. Ask these questions before you book.
1. Which film and series will you use?
Ask for the brand and exact series, and check that the box matches. With EAGLE PPF, each roll carries a warranty number that is used to register the installation.
2. How do you prepare the paint?
Good installers wash, decontaminate and inspect the paint before any film goes on. Ask whether paint correction is recommended for existing swirls, because the film will lock in whatever is underneath.
3. Do you cut by hand or use plotted patterns?
Both can give good results. Ask how they avoid cutting on the paint and how they handle complex panels such as bumpers.
4. How are the edges finished?
Ask where the edges will sit, whether edges are wrapped around panels where possible, and how they treat badges, sensors and door handles.
5. Will you register my warranty?
Make sure the warranty is registered and that you receive a warranty number. EAGLE PPF warranties can be registered and verified online.
6. What aftercare do you recommend?
A good installer explains how long to wait before washing and which products to use. See our PPF aftercare guide.
7. Can I see previous work?
Photos and finished cars show attention to detail. Look closely at edges, corners and seams.
